Thinking Beyond the Landfill

We believe that we have a responsibility to help out beyond the landfill by acting locally to contribute to our community. We're proud to work with Operation Food Search in helping to supply more than 300 St. Louis area food banks and soup kitchens that feed more than 120,000 people, nearly half of them children, every month.

Through our Office Furniture for Food and Metal for Food programs, you, too, can help. It's a fact that 82% of children in the St. Louis Public School District rely on free or reduced cost meals, and when school's out for the weekend, they face two days with little or nothing to eat. Operation Backpack provides them with nutritious, kid-friendly foods to sustain them over the weekend. Before school ends on Friday they receive a backpack containing two proteins, two grains, two snacks, two fruits and or vegetables, and a dairy item, and on Monday they return the backpack to have it replenished for the following weekend. We're currently able to fill 900 backpacks and with your help, we're hoping to provide backpacks for 2000 children. For your donation, your company will receive a thank you letter and a receipt, and you'll receive the feeling that comes from knowing that you've made a difference in the life of a child.
